Welcome to Mind Matters Foundation – a beacon of hope and an epicenter for progress in the realm of pediatric neurodegenerative diseases. At Mind Matters, we believe that every child possesses a universe within their minds, one full of potential and dreams waiting to be realized. Our mission is simple yet profound: “Empowering Minds, Changing Lives.” Mind Matters is more than just a foundation; it’s a promise to every child that their neurodiversity is not a barrier but a journey towards empowerment. Our wide array of programs – from family mentorship to educational workshops, and from advocacy to the facilitation of groundbreaking research – all share one common goal: to uplift the lives of those we serve.

Introduction

Globally, millions of children living with neurodevelopmental disorders face significant barriers to accessing the care and support they need. From remote villages to bustling cities, the disparity in healthcare access is not just a challenge; it’s a profound inequity that affects the potential of an entire generation.

Across the globe, an unseen crisis unfolds as millions of children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia confront formidable barriers to care and support. In low- and middle-income countries, up to 80-90% of children with developmental disabilities do not have access to the services they need. Even in high-income countries, disparities persist, influenced by socioeconomic status and racial inequities. The result is a generation at risk, with children in underserved regions often diagnosed late or not at all, missing the critical early intervention window that can greatly influence developmental outcomes. This stark inequality in healthcare access underscores a silent emergency, one that reflects and exacerbates the existing divides within and across societies globally. At the Mind Matters Foundation, we are dedicated to changing this narrative.
